This web site is aimed at anyone who is considering visiting a hypnotherapist or who is curious about hypnotherapy. Hopefully it will provide answers to your questions.
There is no doubt that today we have many more options, choices and opportunities than our parents and grandparents. These options have extended to therapies and techniques that may help us to grow as an individual, both mentally and emotionally. This can mean shaking off old unwanted habits and limiting behaviours from the past, and replacing them with new flexible and success oriented skills and abilities. This can greatly increase the possibility of achieving our loftiest goals in the future. Hypnotherapy may also help reduce the discomfort associated with ailments such as arthritis and multiple sclerosis.
Hypnotherapy has been around for thousands of years. It was first used by the Egyptians and more recently during the first and second world wars to help soldiers who were suffering with shell shock (known today as Post Traumatic Stress Disorder). Hypnotherapy is considered to be a brief therapy and encompasses many aspects of psychotherapy without restricting itself to one particular school of thought.
It would be unusual for anyone to require more than 4 to 6 sessions to deal with any one issue.
